Aam Aadmi Party on sting operation: highlights

New Delhi: Two weeks before Delhi votes, Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party has been hit with a sting operation that allegedly shows some of its candidates agreeing to help push property deals and resolve financial disputes in return for cash donations to the party. The party leaders today held a press conference to address the issue.

Highlights of Yogendra Yadav's speech:
  • We had said that within 24 hours we will conduct an investigation and come to a conclusion
  • We wanted to see the unedited footage and hear the version of all those featured
  • Anuranjan jha was asked on the phone to make the unedited footage available and he said that we should send a letter for this, this we did
  • It is now 11am... No footage has been made available and there has been no reply to our emails
  • We believe that the tapes may be doctored
  • We are still waiting for the unedited footage. We will wait till 3 pm for the unedited footage
  • We request Mediasarkar and its CEO Anrunjan Jha to make the full and unedited recording available
  • Our suspicion is now being cemented that these tapes are doctored
  • If they (Mediasarkar) don't give the tapes by 3, then we will conclude that this was done not in national interest, but to defame AAP
  • I would request channels to also verify the authenticity of the tapes before airing them
  • It's illegal to air to doctored CD's, anti-national, and against the electoral code
  • We request the media to do its own investigation too
  • AAP reiterates that it will not stand for any wrongdoing
  • They were not making Bigg Boss that they edited the masala bits, they have to give the footage
