Somnath Bharti on Wednesday claimed that there was an attempt to kill his Labrador pet dog.
New Delhi:
AAP legislator Somnath Bharti on Wednesday claimed that there was an attempt to kill his Labrador pet dog which was in the news for allegedly biting the lawmaker's wife.
The canine named 'Don' is suffering from injuries on his hind leg and face.
Mr Bharti also alleged that the police is refusing to investigate the cause of fire that took place last month in a building where he resides.
According to the Malviya Nagar lawmaker, his dog was attacked outside his house while he was away in the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
"Someone hit my dog with a stone that has hurt one of his hind legs and his face," Mr Bharti said.
When contacted Mr Bharti said he is yet to approach the police in this regard.
"FIR, Jail, fake cases, attempt on my life and now attempt on my dog's life. Police had refused to investigate fire in my building," the AAP lawmaker tweeted.
"The building where I stay was gutted by a mysterious fire. I have been asking the police to investigate the case, but to no avail," Mr Bharti said.
Mr Bharti's pet 'Don' was given a clean chit by a local court in October last year over allegations of the canine biting his wife Lipika.
Lipika has alleged that the AAP leader had unleashed his dog on her during her pregnancy.
