New Delhi: AAP MLA from Delhi Cantonment Surender Singh on Tuesday dismissed allegations of fake degree levelled against him by BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar, saying the latter is charging him out of "frustration" caused by his defeat in assembly polls held last year.
Referring to documents received under RTI, Mr Tanwar, former legislator from the constituency, had reportedly alleged that Mr Singh had, on his retirement from army, tried to bag job of a teacher in a state-run school in Jhajjar and had furnished a fake graduation degree obtained from Sikkim University.
"I have already cleared that I completed B.A. through distance education between 2009 and 2011 from EIILM which comes under Sikkim University. It is not a regular programme.
I have not completed degree from Sikkim University.
"Tanwar filed RTI application in wrong university and is now misleading media. This is out of frustration of his poll defeat," Mr Singh said in a statement.
Mr Singh, who is called as Commando by his partymen, had defeated Mr Tanwar in the assembly election held last year.
