New Delhi:
Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) youth and student wings will organise blood donation camps across Delhi to meet the soaring demand in the wake of dengue outbreak in the national capital.
"The AAP Youth Wing (AYP) and the Chatra Yuva Sangharsh Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) will undertake blood donation camps. There has been a demand for platelets with the rising number of dengue cases. These blood donations camps will be held across Delhi," AAP's Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey said.
He said the responsibility of Delhi Government is to deal with patients while the civic bodies have the mandate to control the spread of the disease.
"Last year, Rs 35 crore was allocated to the South Delhi Municipal Corporation only for stopping dengue and malaria, but only Rs 18 crore were spent. A lot could have been done in terms of fogging and other activities," the AAP leader said.
