The AAP government announced its second Delhi Budget today
New Delhi:
CCTV in every classroom and 'Aam Aadmi canteens' for cheap meals are the highlights of the Delhi Budget announced by the Arvind Kejriwal government today.
Giving details of the Rs 46,600 lakh crore budget, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said 10 crore rupees have been set aside for Aam Aadmi canteens.
A meal at the canteens, modelled on the "Amma canteens" set up by the Jayalalithaa government in Tamil Nadu, may cost just Rs 5-10, say reports. The idea is to provide nutritious food to migrant workers in the capital, say officials.
Rs 100 crore has been allotted for the installation of CCTVs in each classroom of every school, Mr Sisodia said. "We want to make public schools better than private schools," he said.
