Heavy rain in Delhi has brought a welcome drop in temperature on Thursday evening, but has also meant nightmare journeys as the capital crawls back home from work on waterlogged roads. Rain has delayed several flights, airline Indigo said.
Traffic jams are reported across the city; a 450 metre drive in south Delhi's Greater Kailash took an hour, said office-goers headed home to Gurgaon.
Twitter is buzzing with complaints and traffic advise, with people sharing photos of flooded roads. Some complained directly to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The impact of the rain and consequent waterlogging so close to rush hour was also evident in the movement of traffic, with hours-long traffic jams reported many parts of the city.

The city woke up to a partly cloudy Thursday morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius, average for the season, the weather office said.
On Thursday, the humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 84 per cent. Visibility stood at 3,000 metres.
The maximum temperature of the day is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, the official said.
