New Delhi:
AIIMS Trauma centre today organised a walkathon to raise awareness about road safety measures.
A large number of personnel from Air Force, Navy, CRPF, Border Road Organisation and doctors participated in the event.
Starting from the AIIMS trauma centre, the participants walked till the New Willingdon Building and then marched back to AIIMS.
"The walkathon was organised to promote road safety measures and injury prevention measures so that more and more people follow them and lives can be saved," said a senior doctor at AIIMS.
"Accidents are a major cause of death and disability. But by following certain preventive measures and rules, we can minimise the impact of an accident," he said.
The walkathon was led by Pritam Munde, daughter of late Union minister Gopinath Munde.
