New Delhi:
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief of the Aam Aadmi Party, has been asked by the Election Commission to explain by Thursday his remarks on bribes for votes at a recent rally in Delhi.
The Congress had complained against Mr Kejriwal for saying, "People from both BJP and the Congress will come to offer money... If someone does not bribe you, go and ask them in their office... Accept the money from both, but vote only for the broom (AAP's symbol)."
This is the second notice to Mr Kejriwal for violating the model code of conduct ahead of the February 7 Delhi election.
Last week, a notice was issued to him on the BJP's complaint that he had accused the party of trying to incite communal violence in Delhi.
The BJP has also complained to the Election Commission that its Delhi chief has been falsely accused by the AAP chief of corruption.
Mr Kejriwal will file his nomination for the polls tomorrow. He took out a roadshow today through several landmarks of Delhi, urging voters to give him a second chance after his 49-day rule a year ago.
