New Delhi: As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government marks one year in power, Arvind Kejriwal has reached out to Delhi in a series of tweets. The people of Delhi have been invited to question the Chief Minister and his cabinet in a two-hour phone-in session. Mr Kejriwal tweeted telephone numbers for the call-in event and also promised announcements that would benefit "lakhs of people" in Delhi.
In the first of these announcements, Mr Kejriwal said last week that the odd-even rule for cars would return in April as a survey showed an overwhelming majority of Delhi was in favour of the ban on private cars every alternate day.
Mr Kejriwal took oath last year on February 14 after sweeping the Delhi election, decimating rivals BJP and Congress. It was exactly a year to the day he had quit as Chief Minister after a 49 day-stint in power -- a move for which he was strongly criticised.
While campaigning for last year's polls, Mr Kejriwal apologised to Delhi for quitting and "Paanch Saal Kejriwal (Kejriwal for five years)" became both his slogan and a poll promise.
After completing a year, AAP has now come up with a new slogan: "Pehla Saal Bemisaal."
