New Delhi: As India prepare to take on Ghana in their final group stage match of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi Police have also taken steps to help the city prepare for the resultant traffic. The Delhi Traffic Police yesterday released a traffic advisory on their Twitter handle, with information on expected traffic on various roads near the stadium.
The advisory suggests alternatives for commuters without proper parking labels for the match travelling through routes close to the stadium.
Stretches Bhishma Pitamah Marg, Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium Marg and CGO Road near the venue are expected to be affected due to the match day restrictions.
Vehicles going through the Kotla red light have been advised to travel to Chetna Marg, Defence Colony and take the Lala Lajpat Rai Marg from the Lodhi flyover, as they won't be permitted towards Jawahar lal Nehru Stadium or BP Marg from there.
From the Dayal Singh College red light, commuters travelling towards the stadium or BP Marg have been directed to take Lodhi Road for further travel.
For heavy or commercial vehicles including buses, access to BP Marg will be closed off. They have been advised to go through the Ring Road and take either Lala Lajpat Rai Marg or Aurobindo Marg depending on where they are heading.
