Assembly polls: central government offices to be closed on polling day
Assembly elections in Rajasthan and in Delhi are scheduled to be held on December 1 and 4, respectively.
New Delhi: All central government offices would remain closed where elections to state assembly are scheduled to be conducted on the day of poll, the Centre said today.

"The relevant offices or organisations shall remain closed in the notified areas where general elections to the state legislative assembly are scheduled to be conducted on the day of poll," the Ministry of Personnel said in an order issued today.

In connection with bye-election to Lok Sabha or state assembly, only the employees who are bona-fide voters in the relevant constituency should be granted special casual leave on the day of polling, it said.

"Special Casual leave may also be granted to an employee who is ordinarily a resident of constituency and registered as a voter but employed in any central government organization or industrial establishment located outside the constituency having a general bye-election," the order said.

Assembly elections in Rajasthan and in Delhi are scheduled to be held on December 1 and 4, respectively.
