A section of auto drivers have threatened to carry out a protest rally from Rajghat to Delhi Secretariat today demanding issuance of around 13,000 auto permits.
Delhi Autorickshaw Sangh general secretary Rajendra Soni on Thursday said that the union has decided to carry out the protest rally against the Aam Aadmi Party government.
"Hundreds of auto drivers will participate in the rally with their vehicles today which will begin from Rajghat and conclude at Delhi Secretariat.
"We demand that government issue around 13,000 auto permits immediately and order CBI or Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) inquiry into alleged irregularities in distribution of Letters of Intent for new autorickshaws," Mr Soni said. Last month, the government had suspended three senior officials of transport department for alleged irregularities in distribution of Letters of Intent for new autorickshaws.
