New Delhi:
Delhi Police have added the missing piece in Baby Falak's family portrait. Her five-year-old brother, has been found in Delhi's Uttam Nagar. The two-year-old Falak is still battling for life at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where she was brought a month ago, battered to an inch of her life.
Over the last month, the police have slowly pieced together Falak's story, tracing back to events six months ago. Falak was brought to AIIMS with a smashed skull, fractures and human bite marks by a teen on January 18. According to the police, a 22-year-old woman, Munni, is Falak's mother. She was traced to Rajasthan and brought to Delhi on February 6. A day later, Falak's three-year-old sister, was found in Bihar and brought to Delhi. And now, the police say, the oldest child, has been traced in Delhi. He was reportedly living with a family that has denied paying any money for him.
The Delhi Police has arrested several people in the case, including prime suspect Rajkumar, who was arrested last week, and two women, Lakshmi and Kanta, who had allegedly attempted to force Munni into prostitution. According to the police, Munni was then persuaded by the two women to marry a man from Rajasthan, who paid Rs two lakh to them for arranging his marriage. Munni left her three children with the two women, and moved to Rajasthan.
Falak is currently on ventilator support. The teen who brought her to AIIMS is at a juvenile home. Munni and her daughter are at a welfare home for women. With the arrests in the case, the Delhi Police hopes to solve the mystery of how, when and where Falak was inhumanly tortured.
