New Delhi:
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday staged protests outside Delhi Jal Board offices in various parts of the city, slamming the Aam Aadmi Party government for "severe scarcity" of water and "inflated" bills.
Party workers led by Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay staged a demonstration at the Delhi Jal Board headquarters, Varunalaya.
"Arvind Kejriwal came to power by showing golden dreams to the people of Delhi but he made a U-turn on his promises... Now he has forced the people of Delhi to crave for water and power while he is busy in playing political gimmicks," Mr Upadhyay said.
Terming Delhi Jal Board as a "white elephant", he alleged that "it has failed not only to supply water but also in maintaining the sewer system". Similar demonstrations were staged by district units of the party at Delhi Jal Board offices.
