A 54-year-old businessman was today found murdered at his office in west Delhi with police clueless about the motive behind the crime.
The incident was reported from Tilak Nagar area this afternoon and the victim has been identified as Gurcharan Singh Sahani.
He was found strangled at his first floor office in Tilak Nagar main market when a person named Satish came to deliver him ink cartridge around 2 pm. Satish then informed police who rushed Sahani to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Sahani was found lying behind the table in his office with a cable wire around his neck.
"We have found Rs two lakh in a laptop bag near the body and another Rs 1.24 lakh in a locker in the office. Robbery does not seem to be the motive," a senior police official said. He said the closed circuit television camera (CCTV) at the office was found damaged.
Sahani runs a franchise of Western Union Money Exchange. He stayed in Rajouri Garden with his wife.
