A woman in Delhi was abducted for 15 minutes by a taxi driver who allegedly tried to sexually assault her last night. The driver has been arrested.
The woman, 32, works as a security guard at a mall. She hired the taxi in South West Delhi after completing her shift. Police sources say the cab driver, 36-year-old Ramesh Kumar, took her to a secluded area and claimed that he needed to stop the car to fix a mechanical problem. He then allegedly tried to assault her in the rear seat. When she resisted, he panicked, said the police, and drove away with her inside.
A passerby on a road the driver took, heard the woman passenger's cries for help and phoned the police, which sent a team to locate the cab.
