New Delhi: Four youths had a miraculous escape after their car fell off a flyover in south Delhi, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on the Defence Colony flyover at 3 am Tuesday.
All the four, identified as Sachin, Pradeep, Rohit and Deepak, escaped unhurt in the accident as the car, being driven at full speed, toppled sideways after breaking through the flyover's retaining wall.
The vehicle fell on a roadside shelter being run by a NGO for animals. Officials of the NGO Friendicoes told police that a puppy died and 22 dogs were injured.
The four passengers were taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre after first aid, where it was found all the four were drunk, said police.
A case of drunk driving has been registered against Sachin, who was driving the car, said police.
