New Delhi: Over a period of 14 years, Manoj Bakkarwalla was allegedly involved with at least 300 carjackings. He was arrested at 5 this morning from Ghazipur on the outskirts of Delhi.
Manoj Bakkarwalla, 36, had managed to escape three times after being arrested in the last few years. The Delhi and Haryana Police had declared a one lakh award for information leading to his arrest.
Police tracked him down based on intelligence inputs.
Mr Bakkarwalla mainly stole SUVs and expensive bikes. He often stole them at gunpoint. He liked cars with speed and is known to be a deft driver.
He will be produced in court today.
