New Delhi: The showdown between two Aam Aadmi Party MLAs continued today as Laxmi Nagar legislator Nitin Tyagi moved a breach of privilege motion against Pankaj Pushkar, who has filed a police complaint against the former alleging 'threat to life'.
Speaker Ram Niwas Goel accepted the notice and referred the matter to the privilege committee of the House. In his notice, Mr Tyagi said the "politically motivated" charges against him had left him "traumatised".
Mr Pushkar was not allowed to speak by Mr Goel, however, he found support from Leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta in his attempts to refute the charges.
"I have not threatened him. Whatever he is alleging are baseless and politically motivated. I am feeling distressed and traumatised over the whole episode. Even my children are having to face questions in school," Mr Tyagi said.
In his complaint, lodged at the Civil Lines police station on November 27, Mr Pushkar, AAP's Timarpur MLA, has alleged that he received life threats from Nitin Tyagi inside and outside the House as he spoke against the party in various public foras.
Mr Pushkar, who is an active member of Swaraj Abhiyan, recently released a copy of the draft Janlokpal Bill to the media before it was tabled in the Assembly, leading to huge uproar.
