The video footage shows a man wearing a helmet opening fire at the MLA.

A BJP legislator was shot at by an unidentified assailant in front of his house in east Delhi's Vivek Vihar area early this morning. The incident was recorded on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.
Jitender Singh Shunty, an MLA from Shahdara in east Delhi, escaped unhurt as the bullets narrowly missed him. The CCTV video shows the assailant, wearing a helmet, having a scuffle with the MLA before he opened fire.
(Watch Video Here)The MLA has reportedly told the police that two men came to his house on a motor-cycle around 5:30 am and forced him to attest some documents. When he resisted, he claims, one of them took out a gun and attacked him.
"My doorbell rang several times. When I went out to see, there were two men who wanted me to attest some papers. When I resisted, one of them held my collar and then took out a gun. As I tried to fight back, he opened fire," he said.
The police was informed about the incident by a neighbour after the attackers fled from the scene.
Empty cartridges have been found from the lane outside the MLA's residence. The Delhi Police is examining the CCTV video for more leads.
