New Delhi:
A senior Delhi Metro official has been arrested by the CBI for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant for issuance of allotment letters for two shops at Badarpur metro station in Delhi.
The accused, identified as Praveen Kumar, is posted as manager, Business Project-I, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Metro Bhawan, in the national capital, a CBI spokesperson said today.
Mr Kumar had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant for releasing the allotment letters, he said.
"CBI laid a trap and caught the manager red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the residential premise of the accused," the spokesperson said in a press release.
In another case, CBI arrested the manager of Bank of India, Dodi Branch in Sehore District of Madhya Pradesh, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
A case was registered on the complaint that branch manager Anand Shrivastava demanded Rs 15,000 for sanctioning and releasing a loan of Rs 1.18 lakh under Kisan Credit Card scheme to the complainant, the release said.
