New Delhi: Ryan International student Divyansh Kakrora had not been sexually assaulted and he had died after being drowned in the school reservoir, Delhi Police chief BS Bassi said today. The Delhi government has recommended a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the case.
The police said they have received the postmortem report of six-year-old Divyansh, who was found dead in the South Delhi private school on January 30.
The child's father Ramheet Meena has alleged that the boy had been sexually assaulted and murdered. In view of the family's allegations, the Delhi government has recommended a CBI probe into the case. Today, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia tweeted,
Earlier, Mr Bassi had said initial reading of postmortem report "does not suggest assault". But the investigation in the case is pending, he said.
"We have assured the father that we will give the details of investigation & proceedings on time to the father so that he can know everything... The investigation is happening in the right way is our belief," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Mr Meena had said his son's body bore injuries and cotton swabs on the private parts.
He had also alleged that the school authorities had demanded that the family keep quiet. "The principal has been threatening me since the beginning, saying keeping quiet will be good for me," he had said.
