CEO arrested with gun at Delhi airport

Delhi: A CEO of a Noida-based private firm was arrested at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport after a revolver and four live cartridges were recovered from his bag.

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) source said the accused, Vijay Singh Chauhal, a native of Himachal Pradesh was on his way to Bhopal  when he was held.

"The CISF detected the revolver and ammunition in Chauhal's bag  during the security check. Though Chauhal produced a valid license for the revolver, he could not explain why he was carrying it and why had he hidden it inside his baggage," said the CISF source. Vijay, who is CEO cum Director of Noida -based NCPL Web Tower, was later handed over to Delhi Police who registered a case against him under the Arms Act.

In a second incident, a man was arrested after a Mauser pistol and 10 live cartridges were recovered from his bag at IGI airport. The police said the accused, Rajiv Kumar Srivastava, was about to board a flight to Lucknow when security personnel found a pistol and ammunition in his bag. "He was later arrested, " said a police official.  Both the incidents happened on April 1.
