A young couple allegedly committed suicide in their west Delhi residence following a fight over the husband's infidelity, police said on Friday.
The incident was reported from Khayala on Thursday night and the deceased have been identified as Ravi, an air-condition mechanic, and his wife Shalini.
Ravi was found hanging while his wife was found lying dead on an adjacent bed. Police attributed Shalini's death also to hanging.
A senior police official said the suicides followed a fight between the couple after Shalini discovered a photograph of Ravi's lover hidden in his clothes.
The couple's elder daughter told police that there was a fight between the couple in the evening after which Ravi left the house in a fit of rage.
The woman then hanged herself. When he returned, Ravi saw his wife hanging and it appeared that he also took the extreme step fearing that he will be caught, the official said.
