Couple found murdered in Delhi

New Delhi: A couple in their early 50s was found murdered and their house robbed in Delhi, police said Wednesday.

"Several valuables including gold jewellery and cash are missing from the house," Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Karunakaran told IANS.

The bodies of Satpal Garg and his wife Ramkali were discovered on Tuesday evening by their 24-year-old son Sanjay in their double-storeyed house in Netaji Subhash Place locality of north-west delhi.

The bodies was lying on the floor in two separate rooms, said the police officer.

Satpal Garg's body was lying in the drawing room with strangulation marks on the neck while the body of his wife, Ramkali, was in the store room with an injury mark on the head, Garg's brother Satyanarayan said.

The assailants apparently knew about the valuables in the house, said the police officer.

The family members claimed jewellery worth Rs.4 lakh and Rs.2 lakh in cash were taken away. Satpal Garg was a scrap dealer.
