A couple in south Delhi's Neb Sarai allegedly committed suicide while their two children were sleeping
New Delhi:
A 31-year-old man and his wife have allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan in south Delhi's Neb Sarai, police said today.
According to police, Ram Chandra and his wife Neetu, 27, were found hanging from the fan by Ram Chandra's mother this morning.
Mr Chandra's mother used to go to a neighbour's house to sleep. When she returned to her son's house this morning, no one opened the door despite repeated knocks.
When she called the neighbours and the door was broken, the couple was found hanging from a ceiling fan, the police said. Their children, aged three and four months respectively, were sleeping when the couple took the extreme step.
No suicide note was found and the reason is not known yet, police said, adding that an investigation is on. The couple was married for four years.
