New Delhi: The Delhi government on Friday urged African nationals against moving out of the Khirki Extension locality following reports that some of them were leaving the area in the wake of the midnight raid which Law Minister Somnath Bharti allegedly led there last week.
"If they (Africans) are moving out of the locality, then it should not happen. I would request the residents of Khirki Extension to not leave the place," Education and Urban Development Minister Manish Sisodia told reporters in Delhi.
Mr Sisodia, however, claimed that the sex and drug racket did exist in the area with residents long having complained about the menace.
Mr Bharti has been facing severe criticism after he allegedly led a group of AAP workers last week in a raid at the houses of some African nationals.
He has also drawn flak from several quarters for having allegedly misbehaved with the women during the raid.
Meanwhile, AAP released evidence in support of Mr Bharti on Friday, backing their claim of a drug and prostitution racket at Khirki Extension.
The party also showed letters written by residents of Khirki Extension to police to take action in the matter.
