New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi minister Rakhi Birla's car was attacked by an unidentified person on Sunday evening at her constituency of Mangolpuri in west Delhi. She escaped unhurt.
The incident took place around 6 pm while Ms Birla was returning from a function organized in the crowded R-Block area. She was seated on the front seat of her WagonR at the time.
"Someone threw an object at my car causing a crack in the windscreen," Ms Birla told the police in her complaint.
Mr Kejriwal and his group of ministers have decided against taking police cover. He has also repeatedly asserted that his party will end the "VIP culture" that politicians are attuned to, starting with its most glaring symbols - vehicles with read beacons or lal batti, and heavy security.
"The people are my biggest security. Whoever is worried about my security, please pray. That is all I ask for," he had earlier said, before taking charge as chief minister.
