New Delhi: Frustrated at being unable to go to school as his father failed to deposit the fees, a 14-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house in west Delhi on Thursday morning.
Aljin Varghese, a student of Class 8 in Adarsh School in Uttam Nagar area, was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside his room.
The school has said that the boy was getting free education since 2004 under the economically weaker section category and that he was beaten by his father the day before he committed suicide.
The parents had told police that Aljin's name was struck off from school rolls in February after his father failed to deposit fees.
The teenager's family has been blaming the school for his suicide.
Speaking to NDTV, Aljin's father said that his son was beaten by the Hindi teachers and was depressed after being dismissed from school.
