New Delhi: In the Chief Minister's absence, a number of party volunteers and officers tasked with handling the complaints took upon the job of sorting out "woes of the people".
Mr Kejriwal is slated to shift into a four-bedroom residence at 6 Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines during the ongoing auspicious week of Navratri. The house has two lawns, a drawing and dining area and two servant quarters.
Meanwhile, party volunteers claimed that in a total of 16 public hearings till date, almost 10,000 petitioners had managed to communicate their grievances, either directly to the Chief Minister or to his associates.
"Number of visitors would rise once Kejriwal shifts to his official residence, because many find it difficult to turn up at the current location," a volunteer said.
Describing the redressal pattern of the complainants, a party volunteer Abhishek said, "Our office receives the complaints and hands over a receiving letter to the complainants. Then applications are sorted and handed over to the concerned department."
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be holding his public hearings at his official civil lines residence from next week, his aides said today.
Mr Kejriwal, who has been holding such interactions with the public on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week since February 18 at his Kaushambi residence, had to skip today's hearing owing to preoccupation with the ongoing Assembly session.
"However, he would be available tomorrow and the day after along with the officers," a party worker said at Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Kaushambi office.
