Meet some of Delhi's newest lawmakers from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia smiled as he confirmed this morning that he will be deputy chief minister in Arvind Kejriwal's Delhi cabinet. He heads the list sent to the L-G; two controversial AAP leaders who were ministers in its 49-day tenure last year, are conspicuous by their absence - Somnath Bharti and Rakhi Bidlan.
- Whenever a party gets divided it loses. We were not seen working as a party per se.
- Every individual candidate was fighting its own election
- Party was late in making Ajay Maken the campaign chief.
- Defeat is collective responsibility -we should not put it on one person.
- Our campaign was weak and not aggressive; I knew I would be sidelined.
- Ajay Maken's comments on me were unbecoming. Maken complained of what I didn't do. Did he forget all I did that made me win for 15 years?
- Our politics is not to stop Narendra Modi. It is about transparency in governance. We have no personal differences with Mr Modi.
- Our focus right now is Delhi. That is what we have been voted for. We aren't thinking of Punjab or other states right now.
- Manish Sisodia, a soft-spoken former journalist and Arvind Kejriwal's closest associate, is set to be Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi.
- Manish Sisodia is credited with strengthening AAP at the grassroots level after it lost all seven parliamentary constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections to the BJP last year.
- In the 49 days of AAP's last stint in government he served as minister for Education, PWD, Urban Development and Local Bodies.
