Delhi commuters, here are traffic advisories for you
New Delhi: Two traffic advisories from the Delhi Police warn commuters of potential delays.

A religious procession tomorrow will begin at 9 am from Imambara, Pahari Bhojla and head to Karbala, Jorbagh.

Route of the Procession:

Pahari Bhojla - Chitli Qabar - Matia Mahal - Chowk  Jama Masjid - Chawri Bazar - Chowk Hauz Qazi - Ajmeri Gate - Pahar Ganj Bridge - Chelmsford Road - Connaught Place Outer Circus - Parliament Street - Red Cross Road - R/A Krishi Bhawan - Raisina Road - Vijay Chowk - Krishna Menon Marg - Tuglaq Road - Aurbindo Chowk - Aurbindo Marg T/L Jorbag Road & reach Karbla.

Diversion for city buses and other vehicles during procession:

The traffic diversions during the procession will be made as and when required according to the position of the procession.

Access to New Delhi Railway Station: Those going to New Delhi Railway Station on 31st January particularly in the evening should leave well in advance, taking possible delays into account. For New Delhi Railway Station, people should avoid Connaught Place and reach Ajmeri Gate side through Tilak Marg, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg or through Rajghat and Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg.

People should use public transport including Delhi Metro to avoid inconvenience. There is likelihood of slowing down and congestion of traffic along the route of the procession. General public and the motorists are advised to avoid the above mentioned routes.

Also, the police warns that repair work of Yamuna Bridge will be carried out on NH-24 from UP towards Delhi from February 3, 2012 for a period of one month. During this period, only half of this carriageway will be available for traffic on Yamuna Bridge. It is hereby suggested that in order to reach Delhi from UP on this carriageway, Vikas Marg and DND road may please be used to avoid inconvenience.
