In yet another case of hit-and-run, a Delhi police constable was killed on duty by a speeding car in north-east Delhi on Wednesday night.
53-year-old Head Constable Ishwar Dayal, who was posted in Gandhi Nagar Police Station, was hit by a Santro car when he was crossing the road in Usmanpur at around 10:30 pm on Wednesday.
Mr Dayal, a resident of Ghaziabad's Muradnagar, was taken to nearby Guru Teg Bahadur hospital, but was declared brought dead.
The driver fled the scene leaving the car behind. No arrests have been made yet in the case.
