New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia along with the officials of the Excise Department raided four liquor shops in Mayur Vihar Phase 2 on Monday evening and suspended the license of one.
The Deputy CM's move came after some local residents complained about the liquor shops violating excise rules.
"During the raid, it was found that out of four shops, two were being run on one license which is against the rules.
"The Deputy CM has ordered suspension of the license. The excise department has also sealed the illegal liquor shop," said a government official.
The Deputy CM, who heads the Excise Department, said he had received complaints from the locals that people drink alcohol in the open near these shops and Haryana-made liquor also is served.
He said strict action will be taken against the violator.
