New Delhi: Dense fog continued to disrupt air and rail traffic for a third day today in the national capital.
Poor visibility at both the runways halted all flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for over two hours from around 7 am, affecting more than 60 flights. While 42 domestic and 13 international flights were delayed, eight had to be cancelled. (Share your experience)
Two Jet Airways flights to Delhi, 306 from Amritsar and 304 from Lucknow, were among the flights that were cancelled today. (Updates)
"Our flight has been delayed due to the fog. I have missed my train too. We are stuck here," a passenger, Narender Singh, said.
Some passengers also complained of not being properly informed of their flight status by the airport staff.
"There is no proper system to co-ordinate here. It doesn't feel like coming back to India. The officials are answering irresponsibly," Manjeer said.
Railway passengers were also stranded for a third day today. At various railway stations in the national capital, passengers had to face trouble yet again as nearly 27 trains were delayed, some by more than three hours.
Some trains also had to be rescheduled.
For the last two days, all flight operations had to be suspended for close to five hours in the morning due to dense fog, resulting in many cancellations, delays and diversions.
