Delhi government official's death: Knife found near man's body had wife's fingerprints, say police

The bodies of K. Vijay Kumar, 57, and his wife Sita, 51, were found in two different rooms of their Kaka Nagar house.

New Delhi : The post-mortem report of the government official and his wife who were found dead inside their home in Delhi's Kaka Nagar revealed that their deaths occurred between 2 am and 5 am on Friday. Police also revealed that the kitchen knife found near the man's body had his wife's fingerprints on it. 

The bodies of K. Vijay Kumar, 57, and his wife Sita, 51, were found in two different rooms of their Kaka Nagar house on Friday evening. Vijay Kumar's body had been found with his throat slit while his wife was found hanging.

The bodies were discovered by their daughter, Varanya at around 4:30 pm. She is 24-years-old and had gone on a trip to Rajasthan. She also told the police that her parents were facing marital discord.
 
Police have yet to scan the footage from a CCTV recording inside the apartment. Police say the door of the house was found locked from the inside. A couple who had been hired as domestic help recently are also being questioned. Three teams have been formed to investigate the case.

Mr Kumar had joined the food ministry in September. His wife worked in a private bank.
