New Delhi:
Delhi Government today directed all three private discoms in the city to prepare a 'summer action' plan so that the city does not face any power shortages this coming season.
Power Minister Harun Yusuf told each of the three discoms to prepare their action plan for areas under their operation so as to ensure sufficient availability of power. "The discoms were told that at any cost they must arrange power to meet the demand of the city," an official said.
The power demand last summer had crossed the 4,700 mw mark. This year it is expected that the demand might go beyond 5,000 mw. The city faced a string of power cuts last summer due to the gap between demand and supply.
