New Delhi: A website and SMS service was launched at Hindu Rao Hospital today to provide information about its various health facilities, doctors and departments so that patients and visitors can have a hassle-free visit.
The service, among other information, will provide patients with working hours of the doctors, their location on the premises and room numbers.
Launching the service, North Delhi Mayor Yogender Chandolia said, "With the launch of this system patients need not go from pillar to post asking about doctors, fees or other services."
"After the launch of this service, the responsibilities of the hospital staff has increased. The services should also improve along with the launch of this website and SMS service," Mr Chandolia said in a statement.
The website www.hindurao.com has been launched in Hindi, English, Urdu and Punjabi. The SMS service has been started only in Hindi and English, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, which runs the hospital, said.
The SMS service has been started on a trial basis for those who do not have access to internet facility. The information through SMS can be obtained by sending text message 'HRH E' (English) and 'HRH H' (Hindi) to number 8082566770.
North Delhi Municipal Commissioner P K Gupta said the new service will benefit both doctors and patients as people won't have to waste time seeking information about the doctors and departments concerned.
Leader of the House Mira Aggarwal said, "about 1,200 patients visit the hospital daily and the website and SMS service will benefit them.
