New Delhi:
A 35-year-old woman was found murdered at her home in west Delhi on Sunday, says police, and the victim's husband is also missing for the last three days.
According to police, the neighbours informed when they got a foul smell coming from the couple's home in Bindapur area. A police team broke down the main door to gain access after recognizing that the smell was that of a decaying body.
"We were informed about the incident after the couple's neighbours encountered a foul smell emanating from their house around 10 pm last (Saturday) evening," said a senior police officer.
The police team found the television switched on inside the house, and the woman's body lying on a double bed.
The deceased has been identified as Simran Grover, a resident of the Kiran Garden area.
"Initial medical examination suggests death by strangulation and the decayed nature of the body means she died around 48 hours ago. It seems the murderer left the television blaring at high volume to muffle her screams," the officer said Sunday evening.
Police said her husband was an autorickshaw driver and was missing for the last three days. A case has been registered at the Bindapur Police Station and a search is on for him.
