New Delhi: A woman from Northeast has allegedly been raped by her live-in partner, belonging to same region, on the pretext of marrying her in South Delhi's Vasant Vihar area, police said on Friday.
The accused has been arrested after the victim approached police last evening, they said.
"The couple had been living together since the last five years and the accused had promised to marry her. But as the woman recently got pregnant, her partner fled the residence. Finding herself helpless, the woman informed police about the incident," a senior police official said.
Police did not reveal the identity of the accused to conceal the identity of the victim. Further investigations were underway, he said.
