New Delhi: A man has been arrested for allegedly carrying foreign currency worth Rs 38 lakh at the international airport in Delhi.
The accused was intercepted by customs officials after he was found to be carrying 47,500 euros (equivalent to Rs 38.68 lakh) in his baggage, customs officials said.
The passenger could not provide evidence in support of lawful possession of the recovered foreign currency. Hence, he was arrested and the recovered currency was seized, the official said.
The passenger, who was going to Bangkok, was arrested on Saturday.
