New Delhi: A 45-year-old man allegedly jumped to his death in east Delhi as he was apparently depressed over receiving a notice from a local court after cheques issued by him for repaying a loan bounced.
The incident was reported from Madhuban locality and the victim has been identified as Rajaram, who owns a small hotel, police said today.
He allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of his apartment at around 11 pm yesterday.
Rajaram had taken a loan of Rs nine lakh, which he was unable to repay, police said.
"He also received a notice from a court on Monday after cheques issued by him bounced. He appeared depressed over this and this could have led to him taking the extreme step," a senior police official said.
