New Delhi: A man, who allegedly attacked a teenager and her friend with acid in the Begumpur area of West Delhi yesterday, has been arrested. The accused, Manoj, attacked the teen after she turned down his marriage proposal, according to the police.
"He was troubling my daughter for a long time. We have registered an FIR. When he was beaten by police, he had said that he will stop harassing her. But when she went to the market in the evening, he threw acid on her," Parvati's mother said.
Manoj allegedly threw acid on Parvati (18) and her friend Gayatri (16) while they were on their way to a market on Sunday evening, police said.
The two girls were initially admitted to a nearby government hospital, but were later shifted to the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Hospital.
