New Delhi: Ahead of the oath-taking ceremony at the MCD civic centre, AAP councillors entered the well and clashed with BJP members when presiding officer and BJP councillor Satya Sharma started administering oaths to nominated councillors before AAP's elected members.
The house was adjourned as councillors continued to physically clash and push each other for hours.
Delhi was set to get its next Mayor today, over a month after the ruling Aam Aadmi Party unseated the BJP from power in the civic body.
AAP has fielded Shelly Oberoi against BJP's Shalimar Bagh councillor Rekha Gupta for the top post.
