It was a sunny Thursday morning in Delhi with a minimum temperature of 27.7 degrees Celsius. The mercury is likely to soar in the day, the Met Office said.
"The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 44 degrees Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 40 percent.
Wednesday was hot and sunny as the maximum temperature settled three notches above the season's average at 43.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 26 degrees Celsius.
