Ghaziabad: Land issues that were blocking the Delhi Metro's extension from Delhi to Ghaziabad have been finally resolved.

Work on the Dilshad Garden-Ghaziabad line is expected to pick up speed after authorities overcame hurdles over the Mohan Nagar and Shyam Park metro stations, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) said.

Senior GDA officer DP Singh said: "Of the eight metro stations on the route, clearance was available earlier for six stations. Now the snags over Shyam Park and Mohan Nagar stations have been cleared."

The eight stations are spread over 9.41 km of Metro route.

The Metro corridor into Ghaziabad will terminate at New Bus Stand in Ghaziabad. The project will cost Rs 1,770 crore.
