New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has refused to disclose information to an RTI activist who had sought to know the reasons for change in the original Phase III route of the metro rail.

In response to an RTI query, DMRC refused to reveal the reasons for change in the route stating that disclosing of such information does not come under the ambit of the Act.

Sushant Mukund, a Noida-based advocate, had sought to know the reasons behind the change of Metro rail route from Anand Vihar-Lajpat Nagar to Welcome-Lajpat Nagar.

He also wanted to know if it was under consideration of the DMRC to connect the extreme end of East Delhi (Kalyan Puri, Trilokpuri, Kondli) to South Delhi under phase III.

Mukund also sought information on the action taken on a letter in this regard from the Chief Minister's Office, to which the DMRC replied that the letter was "not traceable".
