New Delhi:
A major fire broke out in a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) office in Delhi on Monday morning, said a fire service official. No one was injured in the incident.
The incident was reported around 7.10 a.m. from the third floor of the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) building on Lodhi Road in south Delhi where the DMRC office is situated. A fire service official said 22 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was doused by 9 a.m.
"The fire engulfed the 1,000 square-metre DMRC office. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but it seems to be an electrical short circuit. No one received any injuries," said the fire official.
A DMRC official told IANS that no "significant damage" came to light after the fire.
