New Delhi:
Metro services on a few lines of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) were hit on Thursday for nearly an hour after the power supply to them were snapped due to a technical snag.
"Power supply to DMRC was not available from Delhi Transco due to which Subhash Nagar, Dwarka, Chhatarpur, and Airport RSS (Receiving Sub-Stations) did not supply power to Line 2, 3 and 4," a senior DMRC official said.
"Trains were run at a lesser frequency by drawing power from other sources," he said.
The technical snag occured at around 12:25 pm and by 1:15-1:30 pm, slowly the power was restored and normal operations were resumed, he said.
According to DMRC, Lines 2 (Samyapur Badli-Huda City Centre) and 3 (Dwarka-Noida), average ridership on both the lines varies betwen 9-10 lakh.
"Four round trips of trains were cancelled on Line 2 and 15 on Line 3," DMRC said.
