New Delhi:
Commuters were stranded as the Delhi Metro services were disrupted continually on the Yellow Line between Huda City Centre and Jahangirpuri due to maintenance work on the overhead traction wires.
The Yellow Line, one of the busiest on the Delhi Metro network, saw disruption of services for around half an hour.
"Overhead Electrification (OHE) maintenance block was given between 11.53 a.m. and 12.35 p.m. to repair the catenary wire (overhead wire for transmitting electrical energy to trains) on Up Line between Adarsh Nagar and Jahangirpuri stations," a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official explained to IANS.
"There was no disruption as such, services might have slowed down a little bit between Vishawavidyalaya and Badli because of this," the official added.
"The train kept stopping between Lok Kalyan and Udyog Nagar stations. At Lok Kalyan, it stood for 8-10 minutes, then between Lok Kalyan and Udyog Nagar it stopped for around 15 minutes because of which I got late for my office," Ms Garima Mishra, a PR executive, told IANS.
"Services are normal on entire Line-2 (Yellow line) now," the Metro official confirmed.
